    Software

    I use Paint Shop Pro for image editing.  I admit that sometimes I take some creative license and enhance the contrast, brightness, and sharpness of my pictures.  Most often this is to try to regain some of the detail in the original scene that was lost in the digitizing process. A great example is the shot of the elusive Rainbow Oryx shown above. ;^)   (Update: May 2004: I have recently switched to Adobe Photoshop CS as my primary tool for image editing.  I especially appreciate its ability to work in a 16 bit color space and its support for advanced plug-ins and actions by developers like Fred Miranda.)
